Scenariusz lekcji z języka angielskiego (I like football).

I.           GENERAL INFORMATION
 
GROUP: 10-year-old students
LEVEL:   beginners
TIME:      45 min.
SUBJECT: I LIKE FOOTBALL
AIDS:  
§ Pictures of some sports (basketball, football, golf, swimming, tennis, volleyball, cycling)
§ Cards with the lesson structures
§ Prompt cards with the names of sports
§ Materials for writing, reading, and speaking activities
AIMS:
Lexis:
§ Pupils will learn and practise the names of sports (basketball, football, golf, swimming, tennis, volleyball, cycling)
Structure:
§ Students will learn and practice structures: I LIKE GOLF and DO YOU LIKE FOOTBALL?
Skills and functions:
§ Students will practise reading in the form of sequencing.
§ Learners will be able to ask and talk about sports they like.
§ Pupils will practise listening to the teacher for recognizing particular sports.
§ Children will practise writing in the form of completing the sentences.
§ Learners will expand vocabulary.
 
ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
§ Students may wrongly answer the questions DO YOU LIKE? YES, I LIKE instead of YES, I DO, that is why teacher drills the answer in the form of choral and individual repetition.
 
II.  PROCEDURE
 
WARM-UP/REVISION: (1 min.)
§          Teacher asks the students about sports they like and those they don't like.
 
PRESENTATION (6 min.)
 
§ Teacher presents the photographs of some people who carry on some sports (basketball, football, golf, swimming, tennis, volleyball, cycling) and introduces the names of sports to the learners.
§ Teacher drills the names of the activities and makes sure the children recognize them. Then teacher sticks the photographs onto the blackboard and writes the number 1 -7 next to each of them.
§  Teacher introduces the frame sentence and says it several times.

§ The learners repeat it chorally and individually.
§ Teacher introduces the question DO YOU LIKE FOOTBALL? and elicits the answer YES/NO. Then teacher puts the question on the board and repeats it.
§ Teacher chooses one picture from the board and asks another question DO YOU LIKE GOLF?  and then answers YES, I DO. The learners repeat it. Later, teacher points to another photograph and asks the question DO YOU LIKE FOOTBALL?  and answers NO, I DON'T. The students repeat also this question. Then teacher puts the answers on the board and repeats them.
§ Teacher asks similar question pointing to the pictures on the board and elicits the answers YES, I DO / NO, I DON'T. Teacher drills the answers in the form of choral and individual repetition.
 
PRACTICE (15 min.)
 
Activity 1:
§ Teacher says a sentence using the frame structure, e.g. I LIKE FOOTBALL and chooses one student to come to the board and point to it.
 
Activity 2:
§  Teacher dictates a sequence of sports and the learners write their numbers into their notebooks.
 
Activity 3:
§ The pupils are given small sheets of paper with another exercise. They are asked to complete the sentences – to make questions (DO YOU LIKE ...?) and answer them YES, I DO or NO, I DON'T.
§ Teacher asks some children to read the questions and their answers.
 
PRODUCTION (15 min.)
 
Activity 1:
§ Teacher gives out the pupils the cards with a new task. Teacher asks them to read some sets of words and rearrange them in the way that they make sentences.
§  After finishing the task teacher checks the answers with the learners and writes the sentences on the board.
 
Activity 2:
§ Teacher gives out the copies of speaking task and explains it to the learners. The activity requires the learners to choose three persons in the class and ask them whether they like some sports (basketball, football, golf, swimming, tennis, volleyball, cycling). The students are to use the question DO YOU LIKE .... ? and the children asked should answer YES, I DO or NO, I DON'T.
§ The children leave their seats and mingle around the class to carry out the task instructions.
 
Reserve ACTIVITY:
§ Teacher asks the students to change the sequence of the letters in the names of sports. Then in pairs, the learners are to rearrange the letters in the anagrams to transform them into sports that they have learned during the lesson.
 
HOMEWORK:
§ Teacher distributes the copies of the writing task for homework. The learners are to write the names of the sports from the box. The picture clues are provided.
